The melted effect screams Persistance of Time without taking away from the environment as a location theme. Sometimes the difficulty in fractals is making the abtract accessible to viewers who have more realistic or analytical imaginations. I think you have made an interesting place that even realism grounded minds can imagine visiting. If I could I would like to know more about where is it your mind was trying to go as you created is piece.
The bending of the light is throwing me though, I'm having difficulty figuring out the source and position? I understand that abstract tends to not be mired in physics, but I took a star from technique only because of the confusion. I usually base my Impact scores on how well the image stays with me. My interest and creative curiousity was piqued, but I think despite my imagined travels in your created world the image would eventually fade from my memory, given time, so I only took one star away.
I like it, it's got a lot of aesthetic and technically impressive elements and despite my thoughts on its lasting effects it is an extremely strong work.
