Making Of Dark Temple at sunrise by bib993 Making Of Dark Temple at sunrise by bib993
This is NOT a tutorial, rather a summary of the key steps I took to create this image in Mandelbulb3D:

I hope it will help Mandelbulb3D users with one or two tips, and give everyone an idea of the process to create a fractal image with Mandelbulb3D. Of course, there are infinitely many other ways to proceed.

Thanks a lot for this, I am using MDB1881 and think I have put the formulas in the right order, but they will not render with 3 by the DEcombinate button, I have to put 4. Then when I try to change things in the Navi, they don;t seem to make an effect on my start image. Any advice greatfully received

Parameters I am starting with are:

You're right, that was a typo: 4 instead of 3. Thanks

Very nice result, and lots of tweaking work, I bet.
Some good tips in here, especially for a beginner like me.
Now if only you would do "non-tutorial" on how to get the volumetric light to work! I've tried everything, and I can't get it...

Hi, I wrote some basic instruction for volumetric light in the description of the image named "temple of honor". Did you see it and did it help? Thanks.

... Probably the best tip for me was the way you implemented the floor with the pre-transforms & MixPinski4, I definitely need to experiment with that. I also never knew that you could split the Decombinate up to use mult formulas for each part - I had thought the first part always only used formula one, and the second used the rest of the formula slots. Maybe it was that way at one time, and Jesse enhanced it, not sure. Anyway, thanks again Jeremie, your pieces always amaze me! :-)

Thanks Mark, actually the multiple DE comb mode is a relatively new addition. It's the first time I sue it and I thought it would be worth sharing the tip :)

What i liked? All the process you describe, because all users have different way to manage the software and it's why we can see so many different results on the fractal works.

Well said. Actually the process I described here was focusing on doing landscapes, but for doing abstracts it can in many different directions! I'll try to do more of these in the future. Here it was quite linear, but I also want to show all the research and all the dead-ends I find myself in!

Ok, that I know...in that we can only make pre-view animation....for the real animation after rendering in MB3D which software you are using to make the real animation?
